Logitech has a proven track record of designing some great sounding speakers, and they have finally dipped into the Bluetooth speaker world. The UE Boom has an interesting character to it with plenty of colors and designs to choose from. Here is the complete UE Boom Bluetooth Speaker review.
UE Boom Bluetooth Speaker Review – Features and Design:
The UE Boom has a pleasent design that might remind you of a canned energy drink or something of that genre. The speaker dimensions are 2.7 x 2.7 x 7.1 inches and weighs 1.2 pounds which is pretty light. You can easily put it in your bag and its wide enough to stand up securely. The cylindrical speaker has many colors and design options to choose from. The speaker has a nice quality feel to it covered with a water resistant mesh that is also stain proof and a quality rubberized plastic to cover the speakers top and bottom. UE Boom speaker seems very solid and should be able to withstand some harsh abuse.
The speaker has a minimal appearance to it, and the controls are minimal as well with two large volume bottoms on the side and a power button on top of side the Bluetooth pairing button. Pairing the device is very simple, once paired the speaker produces a bongo sound, and when it’s unpaired, it created a different bongo music. On the bottom of the speaker, you have a micro USB input, Aux input and a removal D-ring hook in case you want to hang it up somewhere or strap it to your bag.
The UE Boom can connect to another UE Boom through and app for Android or IOS and this allows you to go into full stereo mode with the speaker for a better sound experience. We would definitely not buy two of these speakers just to combine them into one $400 speaker. If you where in a situation where maybe both you and your friend had the same speaker or a his and her type deal then this would work out perfectly, a great option to have. The UE Boom has an excellent battery life performance of around 15 hours at 80% volume.Buy Now on Amazon
We where really impressed by how loud the UE Boom is and you could easily compare the loudness to some much pricier speakers ranging in the $200 $300. The sound even at top volume does not distort and is crisp and clean. The speaker uses two 1.5 drivers and two 2 passive radiators to produce sound. The speakers has great full low to high mids. Bright upper frequencies as well but it does not have dedicated tweets so some of those precise high frequencies details dont project.
The bass is pretty average and doesnt project those lower registers as well as we would have liked. But you can’t expect a full bass experience from a speaker this size. The sound projects very well in all directions thanks to the 360 degree sound design so you dont have to move around the speaker to fill the whole room with equal sound in all direction.
We liked what the UE Boom has to offer, and we loved the design and the life proof features. The Sound is excellent and is better than we expected it to be. The bass is a tad week compared to the Bose SoundLink Mini or the Fugoo Style, but it’s not substantial. Overall a very nice speaker with excellent performance at a fixed price.Buy Now on Amazon
