When JBL Flip was released, it took people by surprise. Not because of its compact design, but it was one of the first portable wireless speakers that sounded good. Now JBL has released a new version, the JBL Flip 2 that looks very much similar to the previous version, but promises to be an improved take on the JBL Flip. Following is complete JBL Flip 2 Review:
JBL Flip 2 Portable Wireless Speaker- Build & Design
The JBL Flip 2 that we have is jet black; the JBL Flip 2 is available in a wide range of colors including white, blue, yellow and red. There aren’t quite many colors as the original Flip has, but still, it’s an excellent range. Unlike a lot of compact wireless speakers, the JBL Flip 2 isn’t just small; it’s very conveniently easy to carry around anywhere you go. The beautiful cylindrical shape and weight of less than one pound add more convenience.
The best thing about JBL Flip 2 Bluetooth speaker that it can be oriented either horizontally or vertically. The way it is designed, the speakers are slightly tilted upward, no matter which direction you prefer.Check Price on Amazon
JBL Flip 2 Portable Wireless Speaker- Connectivity
Bluetooth connectivity works great with the JBL Flip 2. When you turn on the speaker for the first time, all you have to do is select it and pair from the device of your choice. A spare jack on the back of the Flip 2 speaker allows you to use devices that don’t support Bluetooth at all, though you’ll need your cable.
The JBL Flip 2 speaker has dedicated volume buttons. It also has a call answer button for speakerphone functionality. Bluetooth range surpasses 30 feet; you must remain within this range for better connectivity. The JBL Flip 2 quality of voice is perfect. The JBL Flip 2 speaker uses SoundClear echo and noise cancellation that leads to overall good call quality.
JBL Flip 2 Portable Wireless Speaker- Battery
Every product has a downside and for the JBL Flip 2, its battery life. At a little over 5 hours, the battery doesn’t hold up as many other wireless speakers. And if played at higher volume it can be pushed down to under 5 hours. One best thing about it is that the speaker can be charged through USB. The A.C adapter that comes with the JBL Flip 2 speaker is a USB wall plug and cable, so you can easily plug the JBL Flip 2 into your computer while doing your work to charge up throughout the day.Check Price on Amazon
JBL Flip 2 Portable Wireless Speaker- Sound Quality
At first glance of the JBL Flip 2 Bluetooth speaker, one might not be expecting it to look terrific. There is a very slight stereo separation, but it’s noticeable when you’re too close to the speaker. At this compact size, this is expected. What was not expected is how loud the JBL Flip 2 speaker can get. As you push highest volumes, it begins to sound harsh, probably the volume between 70–80% cannot adversely affect the sound.
